| NDCS: Nebraska State Patrol assists in search state penitentiary after staff members assaulted |

State troopers assisted members of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services Corrections Emergency Response Team in searching the Nebraska State Penitentiary after an two staff members were assaulted, according to the NDCS. The NDCS said 43 members of the Nebraska State Patrol helped 42 members of CERT search the state penitentiary for two days. “The searches uncovered homemade alcohol, items that will be tested for the presence of drugs and some items which could have been modified into weapons,” said Scott Frakes, director of the NDCS.
